Celebrating 50 Years of Vision, Growth, and Innovation
Fifty years ago, in 1974, I stood at a crossroads, a high school graduate contemplating the future. While browsing a bookstore, I came across Cybernetics by Norbert Wiener—a book that would change the trajectory of my life. Wiener’s ideas on binary systems, computing efficiency, and his striking analogies between computers and the human nervous system fascinated me. I was also drawn to the IBM publication Systems, which I discovered at the USIS library. These early encounters planted a seed: computing in business would define the future, and I wanted to be part of that future.
At the time, no computer-related college degree existed. Industrial Engineering was the closest path available—offering courses in systems engineering, statistics, and cost/financial accounting, all of which I believed would become essential in the digital age. I pursued that course and, modesty aside, I thrived in it.
In the years that followed, I built experience in various fields—from sales and management to R&D—working with respected companies across Metro Manila, Luzon, and Cebu. Eventually, I ventured into business, exporting native furniture and handicrafts to the U.S. But in 1988, while in the U.S., everything changed again. The emergence of affordable personal computers—the IBM PC, 286/386 chips, DOS 3, and hard disks with what was then a massive 20-40MB capacity—ignited a new passion in me: computing.
Software drives hardware, so I dove deep into learning as many software applications as I could, eventually focusing on database programming and accounting systems. This hobby soon turned into a calling.
Carl Jung once said, “Life really does begin at forty. Up until then, you are just doing research.” In 1992, as I approached forty, I founded a consultancy to help friends and clients properly computerize their operations. This led to setting up systems for international clients—including ERP software—providing not only advice but complete implementations.
By 1994, I had hired two programmers and began building a fully integrated, customizable accounting software solution. My experience in corporate work, exporting, and mastering popular accounting software became invaluable in shaping our product. In 1996, we formally launched PRIME SOFTWARE at Cebu’s first IT Show in Ayala Center Cebu—along with our “Systems Reengineering” banner.
Fast forward to today—2025. We’ve rewritten our software architecture three times, evolving from DOS to Windows Client/Server, and now to a 3-tier Web Service, Cloud, and API-enabled platform to meet the demands of a fast-changing digital world. We’ve proudly served over 1,500 clients from diverse industries, guided by a young, dedicated team of 20 quality-focused professionals.
Today, we stand at the edge of another technological shift—Artificial Intelligence. As always, we embrace it with curiosity, discipline, and the drive to innovate. Our mission continues: to provide reliable, integrated, maintainable ERP solutions for Philippine businesses—tailored, future-ready, and backed by unwavering support, training, and service.
